While on a work trip in Tokyo, Honeyands received a call from someone impersonating a representative from Lloyds Bank. The caller informed him of a supposed transaction in Singapore that he had not made, claiming his account had been compromised.

In a moment of panic, Honeyands provided sensitive information to the scammer, believing he was taking necessary steps to secure his finances. After the call, he realised the gravity of the situation and felt both furious and embarrassed, particularly reflecting on how his social media presence may have inadvertently disclosed personal details that could have aided the scammer.
